Social Campaign Raises $1.76 Million for #GiveDayTB18!

Over the past year, AMM President Leslie Laney has been volunteering her time to the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay.

As part of her commitment to helping those in need, Leslie Laney provided free social media training. She was helping them prepare for Give Day Tampa Bay 2018.

Not only was it a fun day of training representatives from more than 40 nonprofits, Leslie was inspired by everyone’s efforts. She encouraged her staff to designate a Give Day recipient and donated on their behalf. Leslie and Alex Gamache chose two organizations, Blanket Tampa Bay and the Master Chorale, for what they do for the human spirit. Beth Foreman was inspired by her son PJ’s community activism with the Humane Society. Megan Trimble chose to support the ACLU, in support of improving the justice system for all.

Give Day organizers deserve a great shout out!

Organizers’ efforts brought an amazing opportunity to Tampa Bay. The Give Day charities raised more than $1.76 MILLION dollars from 8,249 donors! Using the hashtag #GiveDayTB18 helped keep the momentum on social media. “Live” videos was one of the most powerful tools nonprofits had on the day.

Leslie went “Live” on the AMM Facebook page to encourage others to get involved, and the AMM Mascot, “Lily the Wonder Cat”, was featured in a video. Lily’s video promoted the Tampa Humane Society, who raised over $19,000! You can view all of the results and see which nonprofits won the matching gifts at
